History and origin of the ascended masters
Ascended Masters, or Masters of Wisdom, have been present throughout human history, although their formal recognition is attributed to modern spiritual movements.
The concept as we understand it today originated in the 19th century with the rise of the Theosophical Society, founded by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky. In her work, Blavatsky spoke of the “Mahatmas” or “Masters of Wisdom,” enlightened beings who had transcended human limitations.
Throughout the 20th century, this concept was developed and expanded by various spiritual currents, giving rise to the modern notion of the Ascended Masters.
The life of the Ascended Masters before ascending
The Ascended Masters, before reaching their enlightened state, experienced human life with all its dualities and challenges. Many lived through multiple incarnations, which served as an opportunity to learn, grow and evolve. Through their human experiences, they overcame physical limitations and transcended the illusions of duality, ultimately achieving spiritual mastery.
In those previous lives, the Ascended Masters faced the same trials and challenges as all of us. This allows them to understand us from a perspective of empathy and compassion. This human experience is essential to their mission, as it allows them to guide us on our own spiritual path in a way that is relevant and accessible to us.
How does one become an Ascended Master?
Masters of Light achieve what is called “self-mastery” through the process of personal growth, self-awareness, intentional and consistent positive decision making in the face of difficulties and the use of their will to override the negative expression of their human DNA (such as anger, fear or disease).
Self-mastery of every impulse of energy emanating through the individual is the primary requirement of the ascension process. When all energy emitted by the individual continuously expresses the vibrations of love, peace, harmony, gratitude, forgiveness, control, power, victory, opulence and other perfected expressions, then the demonstration of Mastery is self-evident.
Self-mastery is the process of evolving and becoming more and more enlightened. And at the end of that journey of self-mastery is to leave the body and ascend to the spiritual plane, that is, to become an Ascended Master.
In addition to self-mastery, to understand the process that the Ascended Masters of Light go through, it is necessary to analyze the concepts of karma, reincarnation and ascension.
Karma
Many of the world’s major religions incorporate the Law of Karma in one form or another. It is a central concept in Buddhism and Hinduism and is also relevant among esoteric Christians and Kabbalistic Jews, just to name a few.
The law of karma believes that every positive action we do generates a merit while every negative action results in a demerit. Bad actions will require some form of payment or compensation in the future, either a few minutes later or three lifetimes down the road.
It’s like saying “you reap what you sow”. In this way, whatever we do there will always be a consequence at some time and somewhere.
Self-mastery is about getting off the karmic wheel. It consists of not doing to others anything negative that they have done to you, but forgiving, and radiating compassion and grace to those who harm or hurt us.
The Masters of Light know that the negative episodes that happen in our lives are necessary for our personal growth and, therefore, are simply opportunities to learn and become our best version. Therefore, there is never anyone to blame in any situation.
The Masters are grateful for the opportunity that challenge represents, as it gives them the opportunity to ascend to the next level. Without challenge, it is impossible to achieve self-mastery.
This is not to say that those on the path of self-mastery (or even the Masters themselves) do not experience their own intense negative emotions. The difference is that the Masters choose:
- Turn inward and face your emotions.
- Not to be driven by destructive thoughts or desires to hurt anyone or anything.
- Purify your negative emotions to raise the vibration of your bodies.
Self-mastery is about choosing compassion, forgiveness, tolerance, wisdom and grace when the situation at hand would cause most people to act negatively. This is how you get off the karmic wheel.
Reincarnation
Karma goes hand in hand with reincarnation.
Reincarnation is the belief that after death, the soul is reborn in another body. While karma refers to responsibility, reincarnation refers to opportunity. It is about a new opportunity to do good in order to pay the karmic debts we owe to others.
The purpose of reincarnation is to continue the evolution of the soul towards enlightenment and, in this way, to return to unity with God, the Holy Spirit or the creative Source.
Ascended Masters are souls who have completed the cycle of reincarnation and do all their work in higher dimensions. Their souls no longer need to incarnate, but can return to Earth to teach, heal and raise the vibration of humanity.
Ascension
Ascension is somewhat similar to the concept of enlightenment contained in Buddhism. It is the path of those who actively choose to evolve to a higher consciousness and reencounter their true divine nature.
Ascension is about opening the heart to reunite with all the layers of the higher self and, of course, with the energy of Source. It is not an event that happens on a certain date, but happens gradually through expanded consciousness.
The climb fits into five categories:
- Awakening of the mind: Consists of making profound and motivating changes in our life. This awakening comes during a great epiphany, in which the mind experiences an amazing flash of ‘enlightened’ perspective.
- Awakening of a new personality: When the mind is awakened, it promotes self-acceptance and empowerment, which can result in the development of a new personality.
- Awakening of spiritual energy: Life force energy is commonly known as “ki”. If this energy is awakened, major changes can occur on the physical levels through the spiritual planes.
- Awakening of the soul: This is when an individual feels deeply aligned with his or her life purpose. During this awakening, a person increases virtuous qualities such as unconditional love, compassion and forgiveness.
- Total Awakening: In this state of grace all that remains is love, truth and pure consciousness. This state can come spontaneously or through years of spiritual discipline and study.
The mission of the Ascended Masters
The Ascended Masters have a transcendental mission: to assist humanity in its spiritual evolution. They have taken on the task of guiding us along the path to enlightenment, helping us to understand our true divine nature and to manifest it in our daily lives.
In addition to helping humanity as a whole, the Ascended Masters also work on an individual level, guiding souls on their personal path of evolution. This is done primarily through inspiration, intuition and inner guidance, helping each person to remember their divine origin and reconnect with their true self.
The Ascended Masters and the 7 Cosmic Rays
The Ascended Masters of the 7 Rays represent a fascinating connection between humanity and cosmic energies. These Masters are spiritual beings who live on a higher plane and use their high vibratory frequency to maintain mental contact with our world.
Each of the seven Cosmic Rays is directed by an Ascended Master and these rays have direct influence over all of humanity throughout our history.
Each ray contains a unique virtue and a decree or invocation that believers can use to connect with that specific ray. Thus, the Ascended Masters act as a kind of conduit between cosmic energies and humanity, allowing individuals to benefit from these energies and, through them, evolve on their spiritual path.
The first four rays represent fundamental aspects of spirituality.
- The Blue Ray is the Ray of God’s Will, with virtues of trust, protection, strength and alignment with divine purpose.
- The Golden Ray is the Ray of Enlightenment, promoting enlightenment, love and peace.
- The Pink Ray represents Divine Love, with focus on adoration and unconditional love.
- The White Ray is the Ray of Purity, resurrection and ascension.
The remaining three rays, on the other hand, represent more specific and practical aspects of life.
- The Green Ray is the Ray of Healing, with virtues of truth, healing, consecration, prosperity and abundance.
- The Gold-Ruby Ray is the Ray of Peace, with emphasis on peace, grace, healing and provision.
- The Violet Ray is the Ray of Freedom, with virtues of forgiveness, mercy, compassion, transmutation and liberation.
Each of these rays has an associated decree or invocation, which believers can recite to connect with the energy of that ray. These decrees act as bridges of light between the individual and the source of these divine energies, facilitating personal evolution and spiritual transformation.
Understanding the connection between the Ascended Masters and the 7 Cosmic Rays can open a powerful path for personal growth and spiritual evolution. By invoking the energy of a particular ray and understanding the role of its corresponding Ascended Master, one can align more closely with the divine forces that influence our world and ourselves.
The Great White Brotherhood and the Ascended Masters
The Great White Brotherhood is a significant spiritual association that focuses on the welfare and upliftment of consciousness on Earth. This association, which also includes the Order of Melchizedek and the Ascended Masters, is known for its outstanding work in support of Lightworkers, individuals who dedicate their lives to the betterment of the planet and spiritual ascension.
The name of the Great White Brotherhood is derived from the white Light that envelops its members, a distinctive sign of their connection to the higher dimensions of existence.
The Great White Brotherhood was established by Sanat Kumara, a spiritual master who embodied the intention of raising consciousness on Earth. Since the beginning of humanity, this organization has assumed the role of protecting and guiding human beings, with the primary goal of preventing self-destruction and fostering positive, sustainable growth.
In addition to the Ascended Masters, the Great White Brotherhood includes a vast array of spiritual beings. Among these, we find Angels, Archangels, Gods, Saints of the West, Masters of the East, beings from other planets and other entities of light. All these beings unite in a common purpose, to work for the Glory of the Divine Source.
Today, according to the denomination given by Father Melchizedek, the Great White Brotherhood is also known as the Brotherhood of Light, a title that reinforces its role as spiritual guide and custodian of humanity.
How to invoke the energy of the Ascended Masters
Connecting with the Ascended Masters is an enriching and transformative experience, and there are several ways to do so. These Masters are present everywhere and their energy can be invoked when seeking guidance, healing or wisdom.
To establish conscious contact with the Ascended Masters, it is essential to open the heart and establish a two-way connection. This communication can happen in a variety of ways, such as through dreams, meditations, intuitive readings or even in everyday situations. However, it is crucial that the person is truly willing to open their heart, body and mind to receive your energy. Once this is accomplished, the energy of the Masters can manifest in powerful ways, such as intense light or overwhelming love.
Meditation
An example of a meditation to connect with an Ascended Master might be the following:
- Find a quiet place and light a candle or incense to create a relaxing atmosphere.
- Sit in a comfortable posture, close your eyes and begin to breathe deeply.
- Invoke the Ascended Masters with an affirmative prayer or a clear intention to connect with a specific Master.
- Visualize the Ascended Master you feel most connected to, holding that image in your mind.
- Allow the connection to develop naturally, being open to receive any image, sound, color or geometric shape that may appear.
- At the end of the meditation, thank all the beings of light who have given you guidance.
Prayer
An example of a prayer to connect with the Ascended Masters would be:
“Beloved Ascended Masters, with humility and love, I open my heart to receive your wisdom and guidance. I invoke your presence and ask you to assist me on my spiritual journey. May your light enlighten me and lead me to wholeness and peace. I am grateful for your help and your love. Thank you, thank you, thank you.“
Dreams
The Ascended Masters can also communicate with you through your dreams. To encourage this, you can say a prayer or intention before going to bed, asking the Masters to visit you in your dreams and give you messages or guidance. Remember to write down any significant dreams upon awakening so that you can reflect on their possible meaning later.
The presence of the Ascended Masters can manifest in a variety of ways. It can be a feeling of intense love, an overwhelming light, a surge of emotions, visions of radiant light, or an increase in your energy level. The key is to be open and receptive to their energy and let go of control, allowing their presence to merge with you.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are there Ascended Masters incarnate today?
The idea of Ascended Masters incarnate is currently a topic of debate within the spiritual community. Some believe that certain individuals who walk among us are, in fact, Ascended Masters who have chosen to return to physical existence to assist in a more direct way in the spiritual evolution of humanity.
However, it is important to clarify that the identity of an incarnated Ascended Master is not usually evident, even to themselves for much of their lives. If they exist, they usually live normal lives, working quietly to raise the vibration of the planet and assist people in their spiritual growth. Rather than seeking external confirmation of their identity, it is more beneficial to focus on one’s own path of spiritual growth and ascension.
